Losing weight is a matter of burning more energy than you take in- so yes, you can eat comfort foods. You can eat anything! Just exercise portion control, or make healthy substitutions when you cook...ie, use skim milk and fat free Greek yogurt to make creamy mashed potatoes instead of butter and cream. Bulk chilli out with extra vegetables and beans...stuff like that :)
