A dietitan gave me a quick way that I could help my clients figure out if their weight is in a healthy range for their height. Follow these three steps for yourself: 1.) Male Or Female If you are Male and at least 5' 0" = start with 107 pounds If you are Female and at least 5' 0" = start with 100 pounds 2.) Inches Above 5 feet Next add 5 pound for every inch you are above 5 feet to the original total. 3.) 10% Plus Or Minus Add and subtract 10% of the sum to find your ideal weight range LANCE! As An Example: 1.) Definitely male and thank the lord I'm above 5 feet = 107 lbs. 2.) I'm 5' 9", 5' 10" if I have a great hair spike...so 9 inches above 5 feet = 107 + (9x5) = 152 lbs. 3.) 10% of 152 lbs. = 15.2 lbs. My target weight range is estimated to be 136.8 - 167.2 Current weight is 165, so I fall within the range. How about you? |
