When it comes to losing weight and "getting abs" the thing most people don't realize is that we have a brain-gut connection and it is extremely important in controlling our central trunk fat. Everyone is famailiar with the nervous system and how it controls basically everything that we do. One part is our sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the stress response in our body. It does things like increase fat storage, decrease metabolism, incresaes blood sugar and leads to heartburn.
When we are chornically stressed through training or lifestyle factors, our hormones get out of balance and we have these issues. Our only choice is to fix the brain-cut connection through various insulin and blood sugar management practices.
-Decrease carbohydrates and limit them to breakfast/pre/post exercise meals
-Increase intake of Omega-3 fish oils
-Increase use of herbs such as ginseng, green tea, and fenugreek
-Alternate periods of high intensity and low intensity training.
