When my Colorado friends explained March was the snowiest month, I didn't believe them. After all, March is spring. I am not foreign to snow storms in March; I just thought they were extremely rare and wouldn't happen my first winter here.
Boy was I wrong. Thursday the snow hit and it hit hard. I went to work that morning with nothing more than a dusting on the ground and was being forced from the office by 10 a.m. because conditions were exponentially worse.
Brian picked me up from work at just before 10:30 am and we didn't make it home until noon. One and a half hours to get home to Lakewood.
The snow pelted my area and we took a couple of measurements with the last one reading 18 inches. That is in one day. Thankfully the weather in Colorado is so unpredictable, the sun came out today and the snow started melting pretty fast; however it is going to take a while to melt all of this away.
This is the view from my door at my first measurement - 11 inches
Not my first blizzard - but only my second and I have to say, this blizzard went much better than my first. We are looking at more snow in the coming week too. I can't complain as Colorado is extremely behind in snowfall and very dry.
