Berkeley residents live longer and have healthier lives than anyone else in the Bay Area, according to a new public health study. On average, Berkeleyans live three longer than San Franscians, four years longer than Californians, and five years longer than other Americans. "Berkeley residents are going to yoga classes, shopping at Berkeley Bowl, they have gym memberships, they have a lot of access to recreational space and parks," said LeCont? Dill, public information officer for the city's public health department, in a San Francisco Chronicle article. "Overall, the health of Berkeley residents is very good."
