Hey hey hey! Hope the past couple of days have been fabulous for all of you :D
Bella has definitely enjoyed the Christmas festivities:
Here she is trying out my little bro’s Kanye glasses. She looked so baller.
Here are most of my pics from the past 1.5 days:
Egg whites with homemade salsa:

Pomegranate greek yogurt:

Topped with puffed wheat and goji berries:

Mexican wonderfood: green corn tamale

For Christmas dinner, my nana (who used to be a caterer), set out a beautiful Mexican feast. She had shredded beef, carnitas, sour cream enchiladas, build your own tacos, green chile and egg souffle, cornbread, beans and rice.
Here’s my plate:

(green corn tamale, egg souffle, beans, lettuce and salsa)
Of course, she went all out with the dessert! Here’s what we had to choose from:
Pumpkin pie

Chocolate pie (my stepmom made this one)

Cookie platter:

Pumpkin roll:

Pecan pie:

And carrot cake:

After much debating, I chose the pumpkin roll:

A funny thing about my dad’s side of the family: It seems like everyone has a white dog!!! Most of us brought our little dogs over to my nana’s –we always bring them to holiday get-togethers--, and there were 6 white dogs at the Christmas party! Two westies, a maltipoo (Bella), two Bischon (sp?) dogs and a poodle!!
One of the westies received a reindeer outfit as her Christmas gift, so all of the other dogs took turns trying on the antlers.
Here’s one of them running around in the reindeer outfit:

When we got back to my mom’s, I was super stoked to see that she had finished her Christmas baking!
Biscochuelos (a Mexican cookie, which is kind of like shortbread with almond extract and anise in it)

GRAMMIES!!!! I think about these cookies alllllll year… graham cracker crusts, chocolate chips and butterscotch chips, coconut

And my raw vegan fudge was ready!

Of course, I had to try a little bit of everything ;)
Christmas morning, I woke up to fresh tamales, eggs and frijoles for b-fast:

SO GOOD! I could eat this meal all day, every day… and I kinda did for the last 3 days :D
We spent the morning opening gifts, drinking coffee, listening to Christmas music and enjoying each other’s company. It was a wonderful day and I was sooo glad I could be here with my family, instead of in Georgia, wishing that I could see them!
We ended the night by seeing Twilight (finally!!). The movie was excellent, but it just doesn’t compare to the book, which totally rocked my face off.
Well it’s time for me to crash out, but I’ll be posting today’s re-cap with tomorrow’s and then things will be back to normal!! Have a great night and I’ll see ya tomorrow :D
I have a long run planned, so let’s hope this rain doesn’t get in the way….
xoxo,
G
Something to think: What we look like is
80% nutrition, 10% genetics and 10% working out. In other words, you could work out like a maniac, have the genetics of a lean superbuff goddess, pair that with bad eating and not make any progress towards fitness and/or weight loss goals. So when your workout doesn’t go as planned, or you can’t make as much time for exercise during this super busy time of year—don’t sweat it. Just switched your efforts to eating super clean and you’ll be
golden.
