Avoiding Exercise Drop Out

Posted Nov 29 2008 12:26pm
Exercisers start your engines! The race to reach your health and fitness resolutions is about to begin. Lace up your shoes, shake out your legs, and take a few deep breaths. On your marks, get set, WAIT! Before you begin, take a look at the exerciser on your right and now on your left. Only one of those two will still be working out three months from now. There is a 50% dropout rate for individuals who begin an exercise program, which makes achieving your resolutions less than great in ’08.

So Lance, why do we quit and how can we avoid becoming a statistic?

Three of the biggest reasons for the dramatic drop off are:
  1. boredom

  2. time

  3. lack of results

Check back next week when I will break down these three factors
