Arms, Shoulders & Cardio Workout 6/12/2009

Posted Jun 18 2009 1:51pm

Dumbbell Friday was a busy day for me as I had about 2 hours of workouts to get in and then get back home for lunch and bed. Didn’t  really have time to post what I did so I figured I’d just post it today.

It all went quite well and I am feeling it today. You know I always don’t feel the burn as I  am working out, it’s the day after that I have to be aware of. We did up the weights because I just felt it was necessary. I don’t like to take it easy and I really like to push myself as much as I can. So when Chris asks if it’s to light I always tell him the truth; which is usually Yes! I could take the easy way out and say No but what will that accomplish. For me not much. In this case and most cases honesty is always the best policy and it’s what will get me to were I want to be. Will I be sore for awhile for that…most likely Yes to that too. It’s something that needs to be done though if I want to continually show progress and to increase my endurance.

So for Cardio I did:

  • 15 minutes of Stationary Bike @ 4.25 miles, 160 Calories burned, Level 13
  • 20 minutes of Treadmill @ 1.07 miles, 320 Calories burned, Incline 9-10% Average speed 3.4 mph
  • 30 minutes of Elliptical Trainer @ 2.10 miles, 600 Calories burned, Level 17 & 18

65 minutes @ 1080 Calories burned :-)

So I thought that was a pretty good start to my workouts. So from there it was time to work with my trainer and today it was arms and Shoulder day and boy we did a lot! I mean a lot for me. In all it took us 1 hour to finish it and that’s why I am a bit sore today.

All together we did 9 sets @ 15reps/set of:

  • Straight Bar Preacher Curls
  • Dumbbell Curls
  • 21’s
  • Skull Crusher
  • Triceps Pull-down
  • Leg extended bench dips
  • Shoulder Press
  • Standing Dumbbell Flies
  • Upright Rows

That finally wrapped it up fro the workouts fro Friday. Now I have 2 days of just cardio training and that will be a nice changes of pace for me. I am going to try to add in something different to see if it will help shock my system and break up the routine a bit.

All in all is was a great day. My eating is righjt on track as well and I guess the true test will come Monday when I way in.

Now time for lunch and and then another post for Saturdays workout.

Hope everyone is having a safem enjoyable and healthy week-end.

Catch you all later…
