Are You a Lotion Junkie Too? [bodycology Review & Giveaway!]

Posted Aug 01 2011 8:26am

Dirty gym floors. Public pools (that my child may or may not have pooped in causing the whole place to be evacuated like Jaws was let loose). Restroom floors (the time that my child locked himself in a stall and I had to shimmy under the door). My point: My kids are disgusting. Kidding! My point is that every day I put my skin in some seriously compromising positions. Thanks to my hazardous lifestyle – Evel Knievel would be jealous if he weren’t so busy being dead – I think a lot about my skin. While most of the time it does a miraculous job of keeping me healthy and happy, my one complaint is how dry it is. And I mean D-R-Y. In the winter I have to avoid crying all together because the salt in my tears burns my face. (Reason #24 why I don’t go to Nicholas Sparks movies.) You could say I’m obsessed with lotion.

Over the years I’ve tried tons of different body washes, creams, lotions and so forth but I’ve never really found anything that I love. So when I got the chance to try the new bodycology rich&creamy line of Body Washes and Lotion s, I jumped on it. (Plus they offered to give free stuff to you guys and I love it when you guys get free stuff!)

The first time I used it I thought I made a mistake. When I squirted it out into my hand to rub on my legs before shaving them (am I the only one who uses plain bodywash for shaving instead of a fancy cream?), I thought “Aw, crap, I just squirted the lotion into my hand! I must have brought the wrong bottle in the shower! And now I’m going to have to get out naked and dripping and run for the other bottle and hope the neighbors don’t see me although why the neighbors would be peeping in my front window I don’t know…” At some point my internal monologue shut off long enough to read the bottle. I’d gotten the right bottle – it was the Body Wash. It was just so thick and creamy I thought it was lotion! When I put it on my legs, it stayed on like lotion too. Rather than washing off in the water before I can say ‘razor burn’ like normally happens, it stayed put the whole time. Awesome.

When I got out of the shower, I covered myself in lotion like I always do – seriously I need to just move to the Amazon already – and paused at my feet. Normally I use a special foot lotion that’s extra strength or something to help with all the cracks I get in my heels from running around barefoot all summer. But I figured I’d try the bodycology stuff and really put it to the test. It worked just as well as my usual lotion! Meaning it made me slip on the tile just like I do every day (you’d think I’d learn but no, every day). And it moisturized my nasty cracked-out feet. The great thing is that the bodycology Lotion is under $5 while my regular stuff is… not that cheap.

It also had a nice light scent. Win all around! My only complaint is that it took me 10 minutes to figure out which end to open. I kept pulling on the colored part instead of the obvious cap because, well, I have no explanation. My husband has to open all the kids’ birthday toy packaging for them.
