A couple of weeks ago I began a new 4-week workout program to start the new year off with a challenge of some sorts but I’m already bored with it. If I’m bored with a workout I don’t get excited to workout and that is a really lame feeling.
So…today I’m starting anew! The workout consists of 5 lifting days during the week and Saturday/Sunday are cardio days. It’s a heavy lifting program which are always my favorite!
It’s laid out like this:
Monday: Chest/Back
Tuesday: Shoulders/Abs
Wednesday: Biceps/Triceps
Thursday: Quads/Abs
Friday: Calves/Abs
Saturday: Cardio
Sunday: Cardio/Abs
I might tweak it a bit as I go through it because I’m not one to focus on abs – or doing them 3x per week – but we’ll see how it goes.
Today’s Workout: QUADS/ABS
QUADS – 3 sets x 10 reps
Barbell Squats, 55#
Lunges
Leg Extensions, 40#
ABS – 3 sets x 30 reps (performed as a circuit – my choice)
Side Bends, 10# dumbbells
Decline Crunch (hard as hell! haven’t done these before)
