Adventures on South Street!

Posted Feb 18 2011 5:28pm
Today my friend Pammy and I went on an awesome run/walk!  It was great.  It was a warm February day (68 degrees!!!) and we were taking full advantage of it.  I hadn't run outside on South Street since New Years Eve !  We ran about 2 miles from university city down Spruce and over the South Street Bridge onto South Street, then we walked about another mile looking for a good restaurant to have lunch.

Pre-run photo shoot in my new Pearl iZumi cool weather running shirt (review coming soon!)

the stitching on the back...yup I matched it to my shorts

Also trying out my new road ID (review coming soon!)

After passing by a ton of great restaurants, we decided that we had our hearts set on salads and picked Jon's Bar and Grill on 3rd Street. We sat outside and it was amazing, such a strange February Friday.

We were supper thirsty 3 miles in.

Grilled ahi tuna on top of spinach and baby greens with wasabi honey mustard dressing...Amazing salad!

Creepy picture of a couple at the restaurant.  They were wearing matching plaid shirts and were splitting a bucket of beer.  I thought it was cute.
We were satisfied after lunch but not totally full so we stopped on our way back at Phileo Yogurt to get some froyo.  Pam was a froyo vigrin so I had to show her the ropes, but I think that she's going to be returning now that she's experienced the greatness.  It was actually one of the better Philadelphia frozen yogurt places I had been to thus far.  If you are a local you should check it out!

Best froyo I've tried so far!

Cookies and Cream non-fat frozen yogurt with some Reese's, cookie crumbs, and chocolate syrup.

Pam got cheesecake non-fat yogurt with cheesecake crumbles

I <3 Froyo!
Such an awesome day, and we got in 6 miles in our travels which was impressive!  Now I'm off to a happy hour on the Moshulu with her and the boyfriend!  They are throwing a random happy hour to celebrate the uncharacteristically warm weather.  I'm so happy it's Friday and it feels like SUMMER!  I have spring fever!!!
I love experiencing new places in Philly!
