This morning I woke up with a bang…literally, maintenance was banging and banging on my door trying to give me something. I kept saying hold on a minute, and they they proceeded to barge in. Let’s just say I was not dressed for guests. A bit later when I was about to attempt the 1000 rep workout in my apartment (no weights or machines needed), I was in the bathroom and allegedly there was another knock at my door, one that I did not hear. A leasing agent the proceeds to try to come in while I’m in the middle of getting dressed to show my apartment. Of course (not hearing the knock) I freak out and slam the door. She claims that I was sent an email last night about someone who wanted to see my apartment, but I double checked and I definitely did not get an email. I got decent fast and showed them the place, but two loud interruptions from my landlords right when waking up does not make for a pleasant morning.
I rolled out my yoga matt and got started doing the 1000 rep workout. On the first move of the first set I was already exhausted. Burpees are my nemesis. I’m not coordinated enough to do them right, and I really have to put a ton of effort into them so that my form is kind of an accurate. I was guzzling water in between each round like it was my job, and this workout was yet another reminder that I need to switch things up more often. Even though I spin a lot, lift, and ran a half marathon less than a week ago, 3 rounds of this workout left me winded. I called it a day after 300 reps, and I’m going to make it a goal to increase by 1 whole set (100 reps) every week until I hit 1000. Each time through took me about 5.5 minutes which is way too long. Definitely a goal to increase in reps and decrease in time.
I was really hungry for breakfast after my brief workout. I had Thomas’s light english muffins with crumbled goat cheese and fried eggs on top, paired with a banana and peanut butter (last of the bananas!). It was really good, and I was loving the goat cheese in this breakfast creation!
I went to the suburbs today for a dentist appointment (which is never fun) and a mani-pedi (which is always fun!). Now I am writing from a Starbucks in the burbs where I’m posting this quickly before diving into my seminar for a bit. I know that if I was to go home I would either 1) relax and watch TV 2) continue cleaning my apartment or 3) take a nap. Removing myself from home is always the best way get work done. No distractions to steer me away from the task at hand.

Off to assess some clinical trials! (Boring…)
