Hello I am an epileptic with autoimmune disease and through all the years I had to do my own medical research untill finding the right disease to ask the doctors to test me for I learned a LOT..now I am uninsured and I know I am suffering from Anticonvulsant Hypersensitivity syndrome......I take Dilantin and my symptoms are a generlized rash with some facial changes, and very swollen lymph glands, under my jaw and behind my collar bone..I run fevers and sometimes the swollen neck area hurts....my question is...how long can this go on before things are irreversable and I am at risk of death?? I know the logical thing is to change meds but as I said no unsurance..I cannot see a neuro or my family doctor and the ER doctors could care less.....I have no choice but to take the dilantin for now...is there any tests that would show the doctors that this is what is happening so they might actually check me in and treat me as a critical patient??? I need help I am frustrated and miserable. Can you give me any advice??
