20 yrs pld paralysis-can create scar epilepsy now, after such a long period

my mom is 53 years old.she met with the paralysis before 20 yrs i.e when she was 33.her left side was damaged;but due to medicines & ayurvedic treatment she completely recovered;now she got continous convulsions;MRI report says that slight scar seen in the right side of brain;i want to know can this happen after such a long period ,is there any harm to her life,treatment is already started to her
