20 yrs old paralysis-can cause scar epilepsy now after such a long period

my mother is 53 yrs old.she met paralysis before 20 yrs ago i.e when she was 33;her left hand was damaged;but due to medication & ayurvedic treatment she completely recovered.now she got convulsions;MRI report saya ,slight scar seen in the right side of brain;i want to know can this happen after such along period,treatment is started,is ther any harm to her life,doctors says nothing to worry.plz help me
