For Take it and Run Thursday we’re talking MUSIC!
I listen to music a Lot. Honestly, it’s almost always playing around me, or just going through my head. I’ve turned into one of “those people” – iPod buds-in-ear and in my own little world. I blame the Metro for this; the commute goes by quickly when I’m distracted by anything.
I’ve been Running with music since high school; way back in the day when MP3 players emerged and it could hold a whopping 13 songs! (Arbitrary number, yes. Who knows the person responsible for that?) I would put one CD on it until I got sick of those songs. Then it was time to wipe it out and start over.
Now? My little tiny iPod holds something like 4,000 songs (which I will Never fill. That’s crazy). I make playlists for races, playlists for different workouts, playlists for getting “Ready”, playlists for sleeping, playlists for driving, playlists for making playlists! Oooh, it gets crazy over here sometimes.

I’ve actually started running without my iPod more and more. Turns out that isn’t So bad – giving my mind a little room to actually think and relax is nice sometimes. But, for the sake of this post, we’ll ignore that.

Anyway! I recently went on a mini-iTunes splurge, meaning it’s time to update the playlist. It usually takes a few months before I get Really bored with my workout songs and completely revamp the list. For now? This is what I’m working with….

Are You Gonna Be My Girl – JET
Run It! – Chris Brown (ehhh…)
Got Money – Lil’ Wayne & T-Pain
Get Me Bodied – Beyonce
When I’m High – Flying Blind
Semi-Charmed Life – Third Eye Blind
Automatic Satisfaction – Unwritten Law
Paper Planes – MIA
Bring ‘Em Out – T.I. ft a lot of other people
I Don’t Care – Fall Out Boy
Dance, Dance – Fall Out Boy
We’re Takin’ Over – DJ Khaled
Upgrade U – Beyonce & Jay-Z
99 Problems – Jay Z
Poker Face – Lady Gaga
Hum Hallelujah – Fall Out Boy
Touchdown – T.I. ft Eminem
Until you’re Over Me – Maroon 5
Bleed it Out – Linkin Park
We’ve Got a Big Mess Tonight – The Academy Is
The King of Wishful Thinking – New Found Glory (remake)
Day and Night – Kid Cudi (what? who is that?! I had to Google this)

Whew, that is quite a list. Still with me?? I thought about linking all of those to the actual songs. But, I have no patience for inserting that many links. Small disclaimer – this is such a random assortment of songs, and not even most of what I listen to on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong – I love this list, but I can only handle the “hip hop” stuff for so long on most days!

Any suggestions?? I feel like this question can be asked a million times among the music-listening-runners. I’m Always looking for new stuff!
