In the present competitive environment, it is imperative for companies to provide effective and prompt customer support to their customers. Today, a range of remote desktop services are available to business owners that allow them to provide quick customer service in a cost-effective manner. Let us take a look at some of the top remote access tools.

An open-source VNC, UltraVNC allows you to use your keyboard and mouse to control another PC remotely. UltraVNC is used by services such as Glance, Crossloop, and iRemotePC. It offer useful features, including Java viewer with File Transfer, viewer toolbar, MS Logon, Multiple Monitors support, and Auto reconnection. However, this tool has certain limitations. It works well only with broadband connection and may require firewall, router configuration, and advanced NAT on the client PC. These limitations may make it unusable for customers who do not have a broadband connection or who are computer illiterate.

GoSupportNow perhaps gives you best value for money. It contains all necessary features that one needs in a remote access tool. The most important feature offered by GoSupportNow is Guaranteed Connection. This feature ensures that you will make a successful connection everytime you use it to connect to another PC. At present, only GoSupportNow offers this useful feature.Other features that this tool provides include, among others, the following: instant desktop view,Auto Reconnection, Whiteboard, Chat, File Transfer, Whiteboard, VOIP Audio Conferencing, Video Casting, and Free Audio Conferencing. In addition, GoSupportNow offers you flexible and user-
friendly pricing. With this tool you can increase the number of participants for even one meeting only.

Teamviewer is another excellent remote support appliance. Its connection process, however, is not as fast as that of GoSupportNow. Nevertheless, Teamviewer is easy to use and has all the capabilities that an advanced remote support appliance should have, including unattended access and file
transfer. In addition, it enables two-way connections and also permits you to hold virtual meeting with other people. However, this tool has one drawback. Its pricing structure is confusing and complicated.

This tool provides quick, trouble-free, secure connections between computers over the Internet. In other words, neither you nor your customers need to install anything to use this service. This makes it the easiest service to use. To establish a remote connection using Techinline Remote Desktop

service, all you need to do is ask your customers to open a web page in their browser and feed a
random number that you will generate at your end. The software is competitively priced at $30 for
a month. In addition, it offers users ‘pay per session’ option, which allow users to pay only when
they use the service. Features offered by Techinline Remote Desktop service include: 2-way Desktop
Sharing, Multi-Monitor Support, Firewall/Proxy Transparency, File Transfer, Auto Scale and Auto
Scroll, and Instant Messaging Chat.

The LogMeInRescue service offers the most features, many of which are not offered by most
services such as ability to connect to a system even when it is the ‘Safe Mode’, ability to connect to a
system automatically upon reboot, Smartphone Support, Remote Diagnostics, and many more. The
problem, however, is that this tool is quite expensive and carry a price tag of $110 per month.

Great post. In addition to above mentioned tools, one can even establish remote connection between computers by deploying on premise RHUB or Bomgar remote support appliances.
