March 2012 mileage: Most running since last September

In March 2011, I was knocked out with a stress reaction in my pelvis and couldn’t run much. This past March, even with a crazy leg that goes every-which-a-way , I logged 164 miles, which is just a tick below 40 miles a week.
This is the most miles I’ve run in a month since last September, but still some 40 to 50 miles less than I run when training for a marathon. The distance is also nearly 100 miles more than I ran in February, when I failed to net even 100 miles running.
Ah, but I’m not training. So, 40 to 45 miles a week is where I want to stay at mileage wise until I start training for my next marathon. In April, I want to average at least one hour per run, so I’m going to increase my distance and run a bit slower, maybe 15 to 30 seconds per mile slower. Just concentrate on building a base, staying healthy.
