It’s Tuesday. It’s the last week of my internship!! And it’s getting interesting over here.
What have I been up to? Oh, let’s see….
Thumbs UP
Fiber One Bars – Oats & Peanut Butter – are you suspecting an addiction to Peanut butter? Confirmed! I heart that stuff, and basically anything that has pb in it makes me happy. It’s rare that I will honestly say a Granola bar “fills me up” or satisfies that snack-hunger, but these guys do the trick! Packing 9 g of Fiber into 150 calories?
Nice work Fiber-1 people. I’m impressed.
The 5K Race – My first 5K was definitely not a race; it was a test to see if I could run 3.1 miles at a decent pace. This? Was Definitely a race. I loved it, and I beat my goal. Check and Check! Plus, I did another thing for the first time…..I raced without my iPod, and actually enjoyed it!
(Last October, Baltimore-Half: No iPod, Unhappy Heather)
(L)SD – ~9:00 min/mile pace - For the first time in a month I finally hit that “Long Slow Distance” pace; the pace where you run 5 miles, feel great and feel like you could keep going. The pace where you can carry a conversation with a good friend, and still breathe. And the pace where I can look around, take in every sight and sound, and love that my feet are still moving. We’ll ignore the “Long” part of the equation for now, I’m content with these 5 mile week-day runs!
New Race distance ahead! – So, the group has officially signed up for the Annapolis 10 Miler, on the agenda for a nice and hottt August morning. We’ve been warned; around miles 6-8 you Will wonder “What the F was I thinking?!” because yes it’s hot and yes it’s humid. But, we’ve also been informed of a Great crowd (supporters) and fun post-Race Expo!
Plus, we get this jacket. Um, Yes, count me in!
Training planLocation – Monday was day 1 of my 10-miler Training plan (Thanks RW! as usual). Well, my printer has no ink, and I’m lazy. So, in a moment of brilliance, I decided to save the screen shot of my plan and set it as my desktop image.
What took me so long to think of this?!!
It’s the first thing I see when my computer greets me in the morning. Not a day will go by that I don’t at least browse the plan, because it’s RIGHT THERE. I love this. I am so impressed with myself right now. Try it! It’s awesome. My plan is also posted under “ The Running ” (page up top).

……um, No “fails” this week! I was sensible about my coffee drinking, I haven’t burned myself out recently, and I’ve had some great runs in the last week or so. Slow, fast, long, short, with a great group and then with me and myself.
I did run out of Peanut Butter for a day though. Whew. That is a Major FAIL. It was quickly fixed, don’t worry.
