Hip Exercises and Knee Pain, Shoulder Retraction, and Rehab Blogs

Posted Jan 19 2012 6:00am

This week’s stuff you should read includes articles by Phil Page, David Whitely, and PT Think Tank.  Hope you guys are enjoying the 2012 Sports Rehab and Performance Teleseminar series from SportsRehabExpert.com that started this week.  It’s not too late to sign up if you haven’t, and it is FREE!

Hip Exercises and Anterior Knee Pain

Phil Page reviews a brand spanking new article from JOSPT on the effect of isolated hip strengthening exercises on anterior knee pain.  I may have to review this article more fully on the site here as well!

The Effect of Retraction on Shoulder Mechanics

David Whitely featured two great videos from Youtube demonstrating what happens at the shoulder during arm elevation with and without retracting your scapula.  Pretty cool fluoroscopy videos.  Thanks to Jeff Cubos for sharing this on Facebook.

Some Great Rehab Related Blogs

PT Think Tank has a nice review of many rehabilitation related websites.  There were a couple on there that I didn’t know of but will surely follow now.  Thanks for the inclusion!
