A Gluten Free Bicycle

Posted Sep 14 2009 10:30pm
I know, I know. This photo doesn't have a bit of food in it, unless you count the crunched up can in the street. But it is a gluten free bicycle and perhaps the best photo that I took yesterday when a very talented friend taught me some photography basics.

While we're on the topic of bikes, let's talk triathlons. C completed his first race on Saturday and I spent most of my day in awe of the athletes thrashing through the kelp, pedaling on a misty road, and running six miles after all of that physical activity. After the race, there were dazed athletes milling about the expo area, shoveling forkful after forkful of pasta into their energy zapped bodies, which got me thinking about what I would eat post-race if I were ever crazy (er, motivated?!) enough to complete a triathlon. There were other foods available, like bananas and a prepackaged salad, but something tells me those just wouldn't cut it. I'd probably end up bringing my own pre-made gluten free pasta and Lara Bars for the race. Plus, I'd check out this blog, where a triathlete with Celiac gives tips for gluten free triathlon training.
