Wow! You guys really did keep the conversation going while I was away! That's very cool.
I want this blog to feel like a community for people. And I love how you guys support each other.
I'm back at home and back to work, but not quite back to my regular time zone and regular brain, so this will be brief tonight.
Did you guys read the book, "Eat, Pray, Love"
It came out awhile ago and I read it then and loved it. I saw it on a shelf before my trip and thought I'd bring it along for the plane. I mention it not because I want to turn the blog into "Johanna's Book Club" but because it's a book that talks a lot about some of the things we discuss here- like balance, and finding what we want and who we are... those kinds of things.
Plus, it's a really fun read. So, if you're a reading type and need a good, fast, and insightful book, it may be the one for you.
I know probably 50 people personally who have read it, and most found it terrific- at the very least entertaining if not thought provoking and/or self-examination provoking...
A couple of people found it hard to read, mostly because the author talks openly about figuring out what she desires and what she doesn't. For people who have eating disorders, desire can be a tricky, prickly subject. There's the whole "desiring a piece of chocolate but would never let myself touch any" thing, and the being SO sure you "do not like tacos" when in reality you won't even truly let yourself ask yourself if you like tacos or not because you're so afraid of what the answer might be and what you'll "have to do" if the answer is "yep, I do in fact like tacos."
Ok, my clock says it's mid-evening, but my body, based on this past week's location, says it's the middle of the night! So, that's it for now. Off to bed. Look forward to getting back to our discussion of what's good enough, and the "little character" project, among other things. Missed chatting with you guys, and I'm glad to be back to it :)
