Wedding Photos Part 2: DIY Purple/Scrabble/Golf Wedding Details

Posted Jan 05 2012 10:54am

Today I wanted to share my second set of photos from my husband’s and my wedding; these are some shots from our reception, as well as just some other little detail shots.

First is a picture of our “Milk & Cookie Buffet.” We had carafes of milk on ice to go along with trays and cookie jars full of bars, cookies, and other goodies made with love by our families. The table looks a little emptier than I’d envisioned prior to the wedding, because I forgot to grab the big box of tall glass vases and containers from a corner of our basement when we were decorating. I didn’t start kicking myself until I realized it AFTER the wedding, though–at the time, I just couldn’t figure out why it didn’t quite look right!

Next is our lovely pink and white cake, topped with a little bride and groom all decked out in Minnesota Twins gear (my husband’s favorite baseball team)!

A shot of the cake with the reception in the background:

Our guestbook table: I made a photobook with pictures of couples in our families, then added pictures of us growing up as well as pictures of us throughout our time dating. I also had some St. Joseph prayer cards which we inserted into our programs (St. Joseph is my patron saint, as well as the patron saint of fathers and families–and the church we got married in was St. Joseph’s!)

Next is a picture of my silver shoes and pink and white bouquet, made by my friend Erin and I (but mostly Erin–thanks Erin!!)

These are the purple, white, and pink bridesmaids’ bouquets (which we also made)

This is a display case I filled with a Scrabble board I personalized with purple tiles (hard to find!) and our names, wedding date, etc. I also filled it with some personalized golf tees and our wedding invitations.

Last is one of my favorite details, our kids table, with a Mickey Mouse cookie jar (filled with Oreos) and a lollipop bouquet! We also put lots of coloring books, crayons, stickers, and glow sticks on the table for the kids.

Hope you liked them! Next up will be some shots of us with our wedding party!

Love, Hope, & Prayers,

Justine Duppong
