Thing’s I’ve learned about running part 2, stretching. I stretch my arms before a run, especially my shoulders. Most beginner runners don’t think about stretching their arms. If you think about how much your arms move while your running it makes perfect sence. In my long runs I used to have to stop mid run, not because I was tired or my legs hurt, but because my shoulders were sore from being tense.
Post run, I stretch my legs. Runner’s World has a great article called Loosen Up that shows you a lot of great stretches. If you want a simple routine, here are some videos I found that I really like. The first is just simple stretches and the second is more of a yoga routine.
