I was really feeling a run today. This morning my legs were still a little sore but my heart was asking for a run. I looked outside and it looked like it would rain any minute. So instead, I packed up the kids and headed to the gym. I did the elliptical again today for an hour and tomorrow I am going to run. I can’t wait. It’s supposed to storm so it may be on a treadmill but I don’t care anymore. I just want to run!
I do the elliptical at a 6 resistance but when I’m done it always displays a 1.
Today I did something I haven’t done before. Something that’s always scared me.
I did the weight machines at my gym. I played softball growing up and so I always had slightly “bigger” arms. They were strong. When I stopped playing after high school… they were still bigger just not strong. I’ve always been scared to lift weights because I don’t want my arms to get any bigger! I’ve read over and over that lifting weights will NOT make you like Arnold Schwarzenegger but it still scared me. I decided to give it a try today. We’ll see how it goes as I keep doing it.
I worked my arms and inner thighs. I really want to tone my inner thighs.
After we got out of the gym it was still really cloudy but no rain. I promised the kids yesterday I would take them to the park so we headed over to get in some play time before the rain came.
They had a blast. They’re getting used to the camera because now they say, “Take a picture of me doing this!” I just have to work on Josh liking me taking pictures of his every move.
Then Scarlet drove us home. One of my favorite things about spring is getting to dress Scarlet up in skirts and dresses.
Josh and I have our race schedule for the fall 2013 all picked out. We decided on…
Baja Half Marathon in September in our home town.
St. Louis Halloween Half Marathon (The just added a half this year) AND WE ARE DRESSING UP!!!
St. Louis Rock N Roll FULL marathon !!! Josh decided to run the full also.
I also have the Dirty Girl Mud Run planned as well as a small 5k.
I’m so excited for training to start! I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about running before.
