Hey everyone! I finally have a chance to sit down after a busy morning. I woke up and was so happy to have the day off work today. I thought about everything I was going to do and fixed me a big bowl of cereal with coconut milk and a banana.
It tasted pretty amazing. Then I got online to write a post and catch up on my favorite blogs before the kids woke up. I realized 10 minutes after my usual “leaving time” that I was supposed to be taking Braiden to Preschool today. (He goes Mon, Wed, Fri) Mother of the year award goes to…… not me.
We rushed around getting ready and made it just in time. I didn’t even get to feed the poor child. Then Scarlet and I headed to the gym. My leg felt great today and I felt great today. I was determined to get my 6 miles that was on the schedule under 10 minute average pace. I did it! I love running so much. So, so much.
I can not WAIT for fall race season! I love seeing my progress and getting better and feeling great. It just makes me so happy.
After my run Scarlet and I had to go directly to Braiden’s school for turtle race day! I did not get to shower, put on makeup, pass go, collect $200, nothing.
The kids were so excited to grab their turtles… except for my son. He didn’t want anything to do with them. He said he was just going to watch. Scarlet, however, was running around yelling, “Where my turtle!” I didn’t force the boy. I don’t blame him. Turtles are gross.
All the kids lined up and had a blast. I’m not sure where the 32 degree weather came from today but the kids didn’t seem to mind.
After it was over Braiden was very ready to leave. But being the mother I am, I forced him to take a self picture with me. He takes after me with his pictures… Doesn’t know where to look and give a cheesy smile.
Braiden may not be the smelly kid in class but I kind of have a feeling that I’m the smelly mother of the group. I do put on some extra deodorant before I go inside so that maybe helps a little. They know about my training so I think they understand.
Do you want to know what one of the best feels is when you are a mother of two? Knowing you’re off work, have a great run done, grocery shopping done, being home, kids are fed, littlest is napping, and the oldest is being very good and quiet playing video games, you’re showered and have on comfy clothes, and you get to down and eat lunch WITHOUT any interruptions! It’s amazing!
(Head down in shame) I did pick up another lean cuisine pizza today for lunch. I just love pizza so much and the store I was at didn’t have gluten-free. I feel so much better when I don’t eat gluten but sometimes I let my cravings get the best of me. I think most of us are like that.
Yes, I will eat every one of those jalapenos. I’m going to go finish my food and maybe do some laundry. Have a good day everyone!
