"Relaxing in Recovery" =ways to have fun!

Posted Jun 24 2011 10:55pm
Recovery is difficult and takes hard work. Recovery is what you put into it. A big part of recovery is replacing our eating disorder with relationships. That is, when we are letting go of ED, we need to replace the time spent alone with ED and the activities we engaged in with ED, with recovery activities!

What does this look like? After all, you may have spent years alone with ED and now you are being asked to say "Adios" to the bad romance between you and ED. This can feel lonely and scary. Without having the support and time to spend with others, it is easier for ED to speak loudly  and tell you that even though he is no good for your recovery, at least he can provide a sense of comfort (really harm in disguise). This is when reaching out to others is key. And what better way to do so than attending a support group on  Saturdays and take some time to relax in recovery with others whom understand?

"Relaxing in Recovery" is a support group which supports and helps you find ways to have fun. Recovery is not all work, it's about having fun as well. Come join 'Be Me' this Saturday!

Tomorrow, will be the first meeting of "Relaxing in Recovery". We are meeting at 2:30 p.m. to do just this! Contact me for all the details  at JennB@BeComfortableWithMe.com.
