Refilling Your Own Cup

Posted Mar 12 2009 3:41pm

If you are a parent, sibling or therapist involved in the refeeding process, chances are there have been times when you have felt depleted, frustrated, and ready to wave your white flag.  Remember to keep refilling your own cup as well as your loved one’s. An afternoon “off”—spent reading, getting a massage, chatting with friends, or doing whatever else nurtures your soul—can make a world of difference in helping you reground, reboot, and feel reinvigorated for the marathon journey you are on.  There will never be the perfect day or perfect time to do this, so just commit to something and take the plunge.  Please let me know what you discover.

Until next time, be well.
