Once we acknowledge that a problem exists,we begin to practice honesty.Where honesty is present, humility arises. And in humility, we are finally open enough to ask for and accept help. ( Beating Ana , from the chapter called "The First Step")
Boy, sometimes it is just so hard to say those three little words -
I'm not okay.
But sometimes it is the only thing that works.
When we acknowledge that a problem exists, honesty is the natural result.
When we are honest, we can respect ourselves.
When we can look ourselves in our own eye with respect, we feel a newfound burst of inner strength.
Surprised by this inner strength, we find that we all of a sudden also feel more enthusiastic and energetic.
With enthusiasm and energy comes hope.
With hope comes action.
It all begins when we admit that life as we know it, as we've been living it up to this moment right now, is not going exactly as we had planned.
From here, literally anything is possible.
What can you do - starting now - to get quiet, real, and honest with yourself about where you still need to let in more help and support to continue healing?
