i just read you should not take wellbutrin if you have an eating disorder. why is this? i have never read this before

i suffer from alcoholism and depression. i also have bulimia and anorexia in past.

Wellbutrin is a medication that has been specifically studied in relation to Bulimia Nervosa. In particular, researchers looked at purging (self-induced vomiting type) and risk of seizures as a result of that medication. Wellbutrin was found to lower the threshold for seizures in people who binge and purge, and therefore it is avoided as antidepressant medication choice for people who suffer from Bulimia. Fortunately, there are other very good and effective medication choices for the treatment of depression in someone who also suffers from Bulimia.
