I’m Back with Chunks of Energy

Posted Feb 12 2013 5:12pm
HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels like it’s been a while!  I finally broke down and went to the doctor on Saturday and got antibiotics for a double ear infection.  Now I’m feeling so much better!  Being sick really took a toll on me both physically and mentally.  I was getting down on myself for not wanting to get off the couch, for not posting, and for not doing much of anything else.  I did get to try out some new things while I was sick though. First… Let’s go back to the day I got sick…

Super Bowl Sunday! I finally got the pictures of the yummy food I made. Since I love food, I must post them.

Quesadillas with Churrizo

Lemmon’s Wings

We had so many other good things that night. Ribs, cookies, rice crispy treats. mmm.

Okay now that I’ve finally posted about that on to the things I got to try!

First since my eyes burned like crazy I ended having to wear my glasses for a week.  My contacts got to stay in the new case my sister got me for christmas.

Cute, isn’t it?

Then… I found this at dierbergs…

Root beer sweetened with Stevia. It was amazing. I highly recommend it.

I spent today working on Braiden’s Valentines for his school party tomorrow.  He picked out Spiderman valentines with pencils and instead of candy I bought everyone Goldfish Crackers.

I was also sent some Chunks of Energy to sample. I was sent two chunks of two flavors of their gluten-free variety.

You could tell that they were not processed which I really liked.  They looked as though they came from your own kitchen.

Each chunk was about an inch wide. 120 calories for two of them.

The flavors I got were Cacao with Goji Berries and Carob Supergreens.

The Cacao with Goji Berries was sweet and had a great cocao taste but my favorite was the Carob Supergreens.  These had a very orangey flavor.  The first thing I do when I try something I like is think… hmm I bet I could make these.  I looked at the ingredients in the supergreens.  They are PACKED with SO MANY GOOD THINGS! Algea, Wheat grass, barley, pumpkin seeds, on and on… I’m actually going to paste all the ingredients so you can see…

Organic carob powder, organic sunflower seeds, organic agave nectar, organic raisins, organic apricots (may contain organic rice flour), organic pumpkin seeds, organic cashews, organic crispy brown rice (rice flour, rice bran, raisin juice from concentrate, sea salt), organic green spirit mix (organic alfalfa grass, organic oat grass, organic barley grass, organic wheat grass, organic cracked cell chlorella, organic dulse, organic spinach, organic kale, organic parsley, organic dandelion leaf, organic broccoli, organic kamut sprouts, organic cilantro, organic beets, organic carrots, organic apples) organic pure vanilla extract (gluten free), organic orange pure extract (gluten free), organic spirulina.

All of this is packed into an inch chunk of energy.  Even if I could figure out how to make these babies the cost would certainly over ride my efforts.  Costing only $5.99 for a 7oz package it’s a very good value.

My over all thoughts are that this is a real superfood that tasted great.

Chunks of energy provided me with the samples, the reviews and thoughts are my own.
