Guided self help

This morning I went for my first appointment with the local ed treatment team; nervous as hell I read everything on the wall of the waiting area! There was no need to be worried, I talked with a dietitian and psychologist about history and a treatment plan.



I was as honest as I felt comfortable with and didn't clam up and sit in silence with my thoughts spinning. I know I can beat this. We've decided because I'm pretty OK with myself at the moment we're going to try 'Guided Self Help', I'll see the psychologist once a week and we'll work through a self help book 'Overcoming Binge Eating - Dr. Christopher G Fairburn'. I'm going to give it a go, the scariest bit this week is keeping a food diary and seeing on paper how much I can consume in one go! Maybe it won't be as bad as it feels!
