other coping skills have you added to your toolkit to replace your need for the
eating disorder? Are you employing those skills, or have you retreated to what
feels easiest and most convenient? -Quote from Beating Ana
Ed will always encourage you to make
checklists. “Good, good”, Ed will say, “Write it all down so you will remember.
That’s a good little perfectionist.”
What Ed will NEVER do is encourage you
to USE what you are learning and writing down against him.
That part will be up to you.
You can gather a support team around
you and ask them to continually remind you that you have a list of coping
skills and you know how to use each one against ED. That way, if you forget,
they will remind you. But you will still have to ultimately use those coping
skills if you want ED to leave you alone for good.
you using your hard-won coping skills to beat back ED? If not, what can you do
starting right now to use the knowledge and skills you have to stand your
ground when ED wants more control over you?
