A Rainy Day with Water Bottles

Posted Jul 11 2013 8:48am
Good morning everyone. Today I woke up and my heart sank a teeny tiny bit when I realized we were almost out of creamer.  Being the loving person that I am, I made Josh his cup using the rest without a single complaint.  Just a teeny tiny tip… A dollop of vanilla yogurt with a little almond milk makes an okay creamer.  Heart  Happy.  I will be running to the store today though.

Yesterday I woke up to a thunderstorm.    I tell ya… lately it’s been rain or 100 degrees.  Ahhh summer time in Missouri. Growing up my mom got me and my 3 siblings a book called “Rainy Day’s and Saturday’s.”  I guess we were driving her crazy in the house. 4 kids… I don’t blame her.  It was a book filled with activities to do inside when you got bored. Note to self: Check Amazon.  Anyway, yesterday we spent the day inside.

They bowled using water bottles (since they don’t have a million toys in their room) and scattered blocks as far as they possibly could. I apologize for the photo quality. Rainy day lighting and camera phones don’t mix.

I am proud of how far I’ve come with my OCD since having children.

For lunch the kids had fun making pizza lunchables.

I like pizza lunchables because it kept them busy for .2 minutes while I got to eat my own lunch.

I had some diced chicken on a flat wrap with lettuce and salsa… dipped in hot sauce of course. Followed by a yogurt.

While Scarlet was napping Braiden relaxed on the couch and played video games while I read 1 million and 1 blogs and worked on my own a tid bit.

I’m going to blame it on the weather but I was so tired yesterday.   I just wanted to curl up on the couch and read blogs all day… and that’s pretty much what I did.  Until Josh came home. I cleaned up 10 minutes before we got home.  As soon as he walked in the door I was ready to head to the gym.  It may or may not have been because I was stuck inside with two crazy kiddos all day long.

We dropped the kids off in the play room and my plan was to get on the elliptical for a nice relaxing workout.  Instead I got talked into joining Josh for an Insanity Class . The instructor talked me into it and I figured since I’ve done the DVD’s I could handle the class.  We did Max Cardio and it was killer but fun.  It was nice having an instructor pushing you.  A little secret.. This was the first workout class (besides spin) I’ve ever taken in my life.  I was always too self conscious.  This was fun.  We ended up staying for another class of weights and core work right after.

We got a great workout in, came home at 7:45pm gave the kids a bath, made dinner (kids ate before we left), showered, put the kids to bed, and ate dinner on the couch together while watching Bravo .  I pretty much did more in those 3 hours than I did the whole entire day.

Since it’s Thursday and I want to incorporate art into my posts every Thursday, I’m going to share with you guys my mom’s new work of art.  It’s a mixed media painting of My sister, My mom, and I.  She used paints, string, camera film, book covers, washers, pennies, old jewelry and more to make this master piece.

Her artwork along with my sisters will be featured THIS FRIDAY NIGHT at the Soulard Art Market in St. Louis.  If you’re in town I’d love to see you there!

Question: What is your favorite class to take at the gym?

What do you do on Rainy Days?
