Let’s back up to yesterday. Yesterday was Josh and my 1 year Anniversary! It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since he walked into great clips that Friday night. But it also feels like we’ve been together forever. I’m so comfortable around him, we are basically the same person, he is such a great step dad to the kids and they love him very much. I’m so happy and I look forward to the years ahead of us. I love you!
It’s also been one year since I decided to stop purging and get healthy, AND it’s been a year since I smoked a cigarette. ONE YEAR!!!! Anniversaries are wonderful, especially when it’s something that has changed your life for the better.
Yesterday I got back in the groove and back on the training schedule. I did 6 miles and felt great. CMT helps me get through sessions on the treadmill. My only wish would be to not have only 2 songs in between 5 minutes of commercials. 5 minutes on a treadmill is equal to 30 minutes real-time… Don’t they know that?
Then for lunch I made a delicious wrap with black beans, salsa, lettuce, and onions. Complete with a bowl of hot sauce. No measuring, no calorie estimating. Just the way I like it.
After that I cleaned up a little and went to work. I have a love-hate relationship with routine. I love routine in my workouts but that’s about it. I got home at 10 and woke up at 4 to a crying little 5-year-old. Braiden is sick again, or still sick, I’m not really sure which. He was complaining that his ear hurt so we went straight to the doctor when the sun came up. Sure enough, ear infection. An hour and a half in the waiting room for 4 minutes of talking and one prescription sent off to the pharmacy. Ah, the joys of motherhood. Should I mention that Scarlet peed in the store while we were waiting for the prescription to be filled? Advice, when your newly potty trained 2-year-old says she has to go even though she went no less than 5 minutes before… listen to her.
Now I am home and both kids are sleeping. I’m not really sure what to do with myself so the usual dishes and laundry seems chirping in my ear. I guess I need to do something productive. I’m hoping to get in my training run tonight. I’m scheduled for an 8 miler and it’s 90 degrees out today. I’m thinking maybe after the kids go to bed and the sun goes down a little bit. This day has wore me out already.
