I was an IV meth user for 5 years. I am now 8 and half months clean and 7 months pregnant. I wasn't clean for very long before I got pregnant and am very concerned for my baby's mental and physical health. I know that it usually takes years sometimes for the body to return to a normal state of physical health, if it ever does heal all the way. I wonder if the fact that my body has so many toxins in it if I will deliver a healthy baby and what, if anything I can do to ensure my baby comes out healthy. I would like to breastfeed, too, but am concerned that there will be too many toxins in the breastmilk. Is it going to be safe for my baby to drink my breastmilk?
