how to taper off oxycodone

Posted by Susan

My fiance is a taking 4/30 mg oxycodones a day.  He has had two back surgeries, but cannot take the pills as prescribed.  He has a history of drug abuse.  He wants to taper off the oxys and get on Lyrica or Suboxone.  How should he taper off them?  He has been on them for about 7 years.

 Thanks,

 Susan

He should try taking one less pill every few days. Then every other day, then every day to taper off.

There is a  natural herbal detox he may want to check out that helps bring your body and mind back into focus, to break free of his addiction during this transition.
