Dear Dr. Kathy,

I have a dream I hope you can PLEASE help me understand. . I was standing outside of Grace Chapel, the church I grew up in.

WHAT MEMORIES DO YOU HAVE OF THIS CHURCH? GOOD OR BAD.  HAVE YOU ATTENDED IT RECENTLY OR THOUGHT ABOUT IT FOR SOME REASON? WHY DID YOU STOP ATTENDING?

I think I was my present age.

WAS IS YOUR CURRENT AGE AND AT WHAT AGE DID YOU STOP ATTENDING THAT CHURCH?

I was with my cousin Whitney

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR COUSIN WHITNEY. WHAT ARE HIS/HER CHARACTERISTICS?

 and it felt like we had been sent to the church by someone to do something. When we got to the back of the church, there was an old black man lying on a hospital bed outside the back door of the church. I felt as though we had been sent to take care of this man and maybe to watch him. I walked toward his bed and for some reason, the old man looked like and felt like Sidney Portier, the actor.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THE ACTOR. WHAT DO YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT HIM?

 He was in the bed and I think he was sleeping or couging. I walk closer to the bed and look down and where there should have been grass, it was like murky swampwater. When I got closer to him, I saw that there was this huge, I mean huge snake just sitting there in the water near him. The snake didn’t move when Igot close but I was afraid so I got away fairly quickly.

ARE YOU A BELIEVER? A CHRISTIAN?

For some reason, Whitney and I left the church and started walking down the street. We went a few houses down from the church and there was a medical clinic with doctors standing in white coats in the open door front of the building. They were looking really nonchalant like doctors do when they’ve been in a bad area where there’s lots of crime, but they seemed nice. So, we go in the clinic and there are lots of people there just sitting and standing around, sitting in the stairways and what not.

I spoke some things to the doctors about the man at the church. I told them we were going to be watching him and said that he probably needed to be taken into the church in a questioning manner.

"TAKEN IN A QUESTIONING MANNER"...WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

 They assured me that he needed to be taken inside and that he should have been inside (their words insinuated that he should have been inside already) . So, I told them (I felt)that we would take him inside but then I started thinking that he would be heavy. I thought that Whitney probably wouldn’t be able to help me carry the man inside. I asked a white male doctor there if he would help me to take the man into the church and he agreed.

WHAT IS YOUR RACE COLOR? YOU SPECIFY A WHITE, MALE DOCTOR IN A BROWN SUIT. WHAT DOES THAT SYMBOLIZE TO YOU?

 He had on a light brown shirt with a tie and some light brown pants with brown hair, a soft appearance. So, we started to leave and head toward the church.

WHY WOULD YOU BE TAKING THE MAN INSIDE THE CHURCH RATHER THEN THE CLINIC?

 I was in a hurry so I yelled at Whitney to go do something at the hospital (what, I can’t remember). So, she headed up the stairs of the hospital, but then I yelled at her to go to the church (maybe to meet me over there). She was frustrated that I told her to do one thing and then the other,so she hurried up and ran toward the exit of the building and toward the church.

DO YOU TEND TO BE INDECISIVE ABOUT YOUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS?

 As she was running, I remembered that the big snake was over there so I ran after her. I got outside the church and saw Whitney from a distance and was trying to scream to warn her about the snake but she either didn’t hear me or wasn’t listening. Anyway, I’m screaming, “Whitney!, Whitney!,Whitney!” trying to get her attention. I look in the swampy area by the church and the snake is active. It's sitting up and I see the head. It looks like it woke up. The man is still sitting there by the church I think. Whitney runs right down by the snake like she doesn’t even see this huge anaconda looking thing.

WHAT IS IT YOU ARE RUNNING AWAY FROM...A FEAR OF SOME KIND?

 So, the snake moves and she sees it. She starts to run from it toward the parking lot but the snake catches her and kind of knocks her down. Then, it literally puts it’s mouth around Whitney’s whole body and tries to swallow her whole. She’s in the snake’s mouth for a couple seconds. I'm terrified. She bounces out of his mouth by her butt sort of and gets away smiling. But as Im looking, she doesn’t run away. She’s like happy to be out the snakes mouth but she doesn’t really run away.

THIS INDICATES A NEED TO FACE YOUR FEAR OF BEING SWALLOWED UP. WHATEVER IT IS YOU ARE AFRAID OF ISN'T GOING TO HURT YOU, YOU WILL BE FINE, JUST AS THE DREAM SHOWS YOU WITH WHITNEY.

 So I start screaming as she’s standing around nonchalantly. I also think I saw another female cousin down by the church.

TELL ME ABOUT THIS OTHER COUSIN, HIS/HER PERSONALITY?

Im not sure, but I think she was there too. I think I kept screaming for Whitney to get away from the snake and then shortly after, I woke up. 

WITHOUT KNOWING YOUR ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS, I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I FEEL IN MY GUT ABOUT THIS DREAM:

YOU HAVE A GIFT OF HEALING WHICH YOU ARE NOT USING. YOU HAVE BEEN AVOIDING IT, EVEN RUNNING AWAY FROM IT. YOU HAVE A CALLING TO HEAL THE BROKEN DOWN, THE HURTING SOULS BUT YOU DOUBT YOURSELF AND YOU HAVE LEFT BEHIND YOUR FOUNDATIONAL BELIEFS IN YOUR CREATOR.  MAYBE YOU WERE HURT OR DISAPPOINTED IN THE CHURCH SOME WAY WHICH WOULD INDICATE A NEED TO HEAL YOURSELF FIRST. 

WHITNEY SOUNDS LIKE A TRUSTFUL, HELPFUL SOUL WITH CHILDLIKE FAITH...IF THIS IS TRUE THEN SHE MIRRORS THE TRAITS YOU NEED TO GET BACK.

THE MEN IN THE WHITE COATS ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL GUIDE YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...AND THEY MAY NOT ALL BE HUMAN. I SENSE A SPIRITUAL CONNECTION LIKE A GUIDE OR AN ANGEL WHICHEVER YOU BELIEVE. 

THE MAN IN THE TAN-LIGHT BROWN SUIT IS SYMBOLIC OF YOU. TAN BEING A COMBO OF BROWN (CLOUDY OR NEGATIVE THINKING) AND WHITE SYMBOLIZING PURITY OF HEART. YOU HAVE PURE AND NOBLE IDEAS, DESIRES, BUT LACK THE FAITH, CLOUDED THOUGHTS, SELF DOUBT, EARTHY LOGIC AND POSSIBLY DEPRESSION. THIS IS THE PART OF YOU THAT NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF YOUR YOUTH WHEN YOU HAD FAITH AND BELIEVED IN YOUR GOD. GET BACK TO YOUR ROOTS ..."YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSIDE ALREADY." PEOPLE NEED YOUR HELP!
