We interupt this blog break to bring you…

Posted Oct 20 2009 10:01pm

an opportunity. A family that’s near and dear to my heart is having health trouble, and in an effort to help with their daily finances I’m donating to a very special fundraiser my personal, tattered, well-worn copy of Road Map to Holland

It’s the very same copy that traveled with me from Boston to San Francisco and all points in between; it has my notes about each reading, and my edits (always editing!), and even a branch of dried sage tucked in between the beginning pages of my favorite passage, which I kept there for luck.

In addition to this very special copy, I’ve included a bidder’s choice:  a personal phone conversation with me; help on a writing sample; writing coaching; or a personal letter from me and my family.  And there are a dozen other items offered, too, all of them from amazing people who have contributed their unique and wonderful gifts to this cause.

Go here if you want to learn more; bidding closes October 30.

(Oh, that break didn’t last long, did it?  And I’ve had itchy fingers so many times–because of all the things I’ve wanted to write about and needed to share.  Such as:  Avery has glasses!  And they are the cutest thing ever, who knew that he could look any sweeter?  When he’s wearing them, it makes me want to smooch him, but he’s a BIG BOY MAMA as he’s fond of telling me.  But I’m resisting!  I’m resisting the urge to smooch, as well as the desire to write about it, because I’m hoping these impulses will build into a new, and beautiful… something, which has yet to show itself.  Thank you for hanging in there with me and as always, thank you for reading.)
