About 4 or 5 days ago, I noticed something new with Gabi. She was forcefully blinking. I ignored it figuring if I don't give it any attention, then she will stop. She hasn't. She is doing it all of the time. Whether she is playing, talking, eating, watching TV, she is doing it. Ryan started noticing it about the same time I did, but we didn't really talk about it until yesterday. Now we have come to the conclusion that it's not intentional. We really don't think she even realizes she is doing it. Sometimes the blink uses her whole face. I took a video of her yesterday to show what this looks like. I just carried on a regular conversation so she had no idea why I was taking a video of her.
Of course, I researched Tourette Syndrome, and found this information about it. Of course 4 or 5 days is way to early to jump to that diagnosis, but she is definitely experiencing a tick. It says that they are usually related to stress. So I tried to think of things that might be causing her stress. We do have a certain toddler in the house that is extra loud and screams often (and like a girl I might add!) I know that loud noises are an issue for her, but she does this even when she is playing and having fun! I am just hoping this goes away soon.
Any thoughts?
UPDATE: This morning, I had a few thoughts come to mind. 1) Maybe the glasses she has been wearing the last few days were made wrong and she is doing it to adjust her eyes. 2) She didn't appear to do it when she first woke up. But as the morning progressed, the ticks slowly started coming back and she hasn't even put her glasses on yet today!
