The Memories Brought On By A Picture

Posted Dec 11 2008 9:09pm
As we approach Preston's 2nd birthday, I got an email from the company that took his newborn picture. I have to laugh as I look back at how different he looks today compared to then. I swear he looked like a baby Samurai wrestler! Poor baby!

He had just started developing a strange rash that made his whole body puffy this particular day. At least they took the picture before he got all red and splotchy. He got so puffy that he could barely open his eyes. The pediatrician was so worried about it that he consulted a neonatologist (Which by the way spent less than 5 minutes for the consult and charged un-Godly amounts of money for his visit!) We thought that Preston's rash may keep him in the hospital longer, then he was cleared to go. When they brought in the proofs of his newborn picture, I had to let Ryan make the final decisions since my vision was being affected by these awful headaches that had developed.

So then they began thinking I was getting spinal headaches caused from a CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid) leak from my spinal block. We thought this would keep us from going home, but I ended up getting another horrific visit from the anesthesiologist to do a blood patch to correct the CSF leak, and I was cleared to go. Who would have thought that we would be going home early after a C-section and all of those issues? What promoted the miraculous event of a discharge two (Yes 2!) days after birth? Christmas! We went home very late Christmas eve! Now on to the funny pictures. Here is the link.
