I am feeling lazy about linking right now, but awhile back, the summer before this past one, our first summer here (wow! before Rainer was born!) Georgia had a run-in with a little boy who she "kissed" by licking his face. He was totally asking for it, but, his mom? She freaked. Like fuh-reaked.
I had to see that family at various therapy and group sessions with Infants & Toddlers for the next 18 months and that boy's mom NEVER failed to mention the licking incident. I was mortified at her reaction and also, truly just miffed. I mean, GET OVER IT!
I don't see them anymore--and actually by the end of our "relationship" (for what there was of one) I actually ended up...not LIKING the woman, but feeling a sort of...well, frankly I felt bad for her. Her son still did not have a Dx, but had clear issues, and she was having a hard time with the whole thing. In my head, I forgave her. I'd be happy to know how her son is doing now. He REALLY liked Georgia. I mean, REALLY liked her.
Anyway, recently, my friend Lisa of Finnian's Journey was talking to me about how her son, like Georgia, likes to...let's say EXPLORE...with his tongue. I told her about our experiences with the licking incident and we shared a laugh when I told her I always thought I should buy G a t-shirt with the Rolling Stones tongue on the front.
Look what arrived in the mail today!
Thanks, Loo! We LOVE it! And I hope you got one for Finn, too!
Oh, and this picture? I can NOT get over how much Georgia looks like my mom in it!!!!
