Rant and Rave

Rant

  1. Good ol' Postal Service- "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night..." Well so much for that. We haven't received mail in 2 days. Why? Because my brother-in-law who is visiting is parked on the street (which is legal here) 6 feet from the mailbox. Our mail person did not want to get out of her truck to put the mail in the mailbox. If she was that lazy, she could've pulled up to the mailbox to put the mail in, put the truck in reverse and proceed around his car. Nope! Just didn't deliver to us. My husband jumped in his truck when I walked outside and realized she didn't give us our mail again, and drove down the street to get our mail from her. He was so mad he said "You'd have to get out of the truck if you had to deliver a package to us, wouldn't you?"

  2. School has been let out early for 3 out of the 5 days it has been back in session. Today was the third time! Yep! You guess it! It's hot outside! Temperature is expected to reach 102. So, we send our kids home from their air conditioned schools. Okay, for arguments sake some theorize that it is because the buses aren't air conditioned. What about this- Another mom made a good point to me and said "What about those kids who don't have air conditioners in their homes? The school is sending them home from their air conditioned schools!" Good point!

Rave

  1. I got a call from Gabi's teacher today, and she wanted to tell me how Gabi was comforting another child who was crying. Gabi grabbed a tissue and patted away the girl's tears. I love seeing the compassionate side of her.
  2. Gabi has been singing on the bus lately. I found this out because both the bus driver and Gabi's teacher told me about it. That girl loves to sing!
  3. When Gabi got home from school today, she seen Paul (my brother-in-law who is in town visiting) ran up to him, hugs him and says "Hi!" She then turns and runs toward her room yelling "Dolly!" Dolly is Gabi's favorite doll. Apparently, she missed two people today Paul and Dolly!

Neither Rant Nor Rave~Just Gabi

  1. I laid Gabi down to watch Shrek 2 for the gazillionth time, and she was upset because her blankets weren't perfectly straight. Every attempt I made wasn't good enough hence her cries and yelling of "No!" She's such a perfectionist at times.
  2. There is a man that helps out on Gabi's bus. It is a special needs bus, so they have a helper. Gabi says to him as she gets off the bus the other day "Bye, man!" I asked her as we were walking in the house certain that I had misunderstood her, "What was his name?" She replies with, "It's man!" I guess I now need to inquire of the names of the bus driver and the man. As cute as it is, it doesn't seem very polite to go around calling people "Man."

Also, I wanted to thank you all for your well wishes and prayers! The pathology results on the polyp should be back tomorrow or Monday! I'll keep you informed!
