Post-abortion stress - the hope

Posted Apr 14 2009 11:13pm

As with any trauma that happens in our lives, a woman may find herself depressed, distressed, or suddenly filled with unexplained anger many. many years after walking away from an abortion thinking the problem is over.

I met a woman at Mt. Hermon whose mother took her to have an abortion when she was 15. There was no discussion. It was a done deal. Two decades later she recognized the enormous impact that event had had on her life and how much she needed to deal with her unresolved feelings.

Considering that there have been nearly 50,000,000 abortions since Roe v. Wade made abortion legal nationwide in 1973, there must be hundreds of thousands of women suffering post-abortion stress syndrome.

Funny how in a culture that recognizes every other kind of post-_______ syndromes, the powers-that-be bend over backwards to deny that women may suffer emotional disorders immediately or many years down the line.

Keep in mind that these are the same powers-that-be that with media complicity refuse to acknowledge the link between abortion and breast cancer. For the Left, abortion is like a Holy Sacrament; any efforts to provide information which might lead to fewer abortions is considered blasphemy. Unspeakable words. Unprintable news.

If you are a woman who's had an abortion, you might be interested in taking a look at the Stress Questions at AfterAbortion.com

Following up on Post abortion stress- the reality, and in recognition that many women may not have a clue why their lives can look so wonderful on the outside while they still feel empty within, I want to share the following resources for dealing with the aftermath of abortion.
