Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson quits after seeing ultrasound abortion

I hear Raymond Arroyo interviewing Abby Johnson this morning - he was filling in for Laura Ingraham. This was a very impressive interview with a gentle, soft-spoken woman who gave up her job when she had a moment of epiphany watching an ultrasound of an abortion.
She is joining a growing number of Americans whose growing understanding of the scientific, political and spiritual implications of 1.5 million US abortions a year - and the psychological/emotional fallout of countless individual abortions - has created a pro-life shift in our country.
In the radio interview, she discussed how she originally came to work for Planned Parenthood out of a desire to help girls and women - you know, with Pap smears, birth control, etc. But she said that since the economic downturn, the push has been toward abortions because that is the real Planned Parenthood profit center. Those of us who study PP have known this for years - and we have been trying to educate the public on how PP is a billion dollar industry and why increasing promiscuity and the inevitable "unwanted" pregnancies is in their best interest. See Planned Parenthood: uninhibited sexual rights for all.
Did you know that a woman who has an abortion is more likely to have a second? And perhaps you have read recently of the new media heroine who is a mother now after 15 abortions?
Anyway, here is Abby Johnson. Keep her in your prayers as Planned Parenthood has already begun legal action:
There
have been interesting polling, occasionally reported here, about how
the country seems to be moving in a pro life direction, with the Gallup Poll now showing a majority opposing abortion.
One reason seems to be that improved imaging techniques have verified
the humanity of gestating life. That is sure what happened with Abby
Johnson, who quit her position as head of a local Planned Parenthood
chapter, and indeed, now works with pro lifers to help persuade women
to make the choice of giving birth. From the story:
Planned Parenthood has been a part of Abby
Johnson's life for the past eight years; that is until last month, when
Abby resigned. Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after
watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure. "I just thought I
can't do this anymore, and it was just like a flash that hit me and I
thought that's it," said Jonhson.
She handed in her resignation October 6. Johnson worked as
the Bryan Planned Parenthood Director for two years. According to
Johnson, the non-profit was struggling under the weight of a tough
economy, and changing it's business model from one that pushed
prevention, to one that focused on abortion. "It seemed like maybe
that's not what a lot of people were believing any more because that's
not where the money was. The money wasn't in family planning, the money
wasn't in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem
with that," said Johnson.
