I made my first selfmade batch of gingerbread dough ever on Wednesday and yesterday I baked approx one million gingerbread cookies. At least that is what it felt like. They look somewhat OK and if it was not for the mega cold I have developed, I am sure that I would think they taste good. Bookie says they are the best he ever tasted - and he is just a tad biased. According to my mom, the thinner the cookies are the better they taste. I soon realized this was a concept I was not going to grasp… It was close to impossible to move the cut out cookies to the cookie sheet paper without severly damaging the look. An example: I was using the traditional pig cookie-cutter and tried to master the skill of getting them to the cookie sheet. Bookie comes in and tells me that the foxes I am making look great… So after that I decided to use the not-so-traditional hippo-cookie-cutter for the remaining half a million cookies as it was easier to move. Here is part of the result - and no, they are not four-fingered hands, they are supposed to be little Prince Vince crowns.
