Well, I finally did it! I started going to the YMCA today. I did a fast paced walk on the treadmill for a half hour and varied my incline from time to time, and then I worked out on the various machines that work out targeted areas. Oh my goodness! I didn't feel like I was overdoing it at the time. I actually was wondering if the repetitions I was doing were doing any good. Well, several hours later, I am aching! Ouch! I think the muscle that hurts the most is my lower back muscles. I figured I better work that muscle area since I rely on it so much at work and every day. Between lifting patients up in bed and carrying my children, you wouldn't think it would be so weak. And I am going back tomorrow! No pain, no gain (or loss in my case)!
And Preston and Gabi are doing better today. They still have the sneezing and runny noses, but no fevers and vomiting. And, they are still snuggling! They were actually competing for my lap tonight. As soon as Ryan would grab Preston from me, there was Gabi jumping onto my lap claiming, "It's my turn!" And, Preston would take a nose dive back towards me. He would lay his head on my chest and try nudging Gabi off. Yeah, I am eating it up!
