Keeghan had a dentist appointment this morning and they called on Friday and were able to fit Kellsey into a cancelled spot as well! They originally could not get her in until April 5th, so I was happy for the sooner opening! The doctor from the Down syndrome clinic said that she thought she could see some cavities in Kellsey's teeth... which wouldn't be a surprise. Many kids who come home from Eastern Europe have a mouth full of cavities and/or rotted teeth. I was also hoping they would be able to tell me the source of Kellsey's really bad breath!
Kellsey went first this morning and she did just great! She laid in the chair and watched the TV on the ceiling (our dentist is cool like that!). She opened her mouth when they asked her to and didn't cry one time through the whole cleaning :). The great news is no cavities!! YAY!!! The not so great news is, STILL no answer to the horrid breath. *sigh* They suggested seeing an ENT because her tonsils are HUGE. There's no way her cardiologist or orthopedic surgeon will let him put her to sleep to remove her tonsils though. I'm going to talk to her developmental ped and see what she says about it.
They confirmed that Kellsey is missing 6 teeth... they don't know if they'll ever come in... and of course we don't know if maybe they used to be there and somehow fell out or got knocked out... but being that they're the same teeth on both sides, top and bottom, my guess is they were never there. Hopefully they'll still come in. Kennedy didn't get her last baby teeth until 3 1/2, it could happen!
Keeghan didn't do so well on his appointment... he didn't like them messing in his mouth! He didn't cry really, he just kept telling them to "stop it!" LOL He's not 3 yet so they just did an exam, not a full cleaning. They said that his teeth look good though and he's clear for another 6 months when he'll get his first cleaning.
I was a bad mommy and took NO pictures of this event! A POTD opportunity wasted! LOL I was listening too closely to what they were saying about Kellsey! LOL Oh well, next time!
