Thanks Deb for the flowers! This is what Deb wrote on her blog:
"I would like to pass these flowers on to Shannon and Gabi at Gabi's World. I know they've been having some not so much fun with dentists and glasses and think they need a little pick me up."
Thank you for the pick me up! I actually have some good news to add to my dental dilemmas. Let me give you a little history first. Prior to my pregnancy with Preston, I hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years. I had only started going because of excruciating pain in my left upper wisdom and right lower wisdom teeth during my 1st trimester of pregnancy. Turns out I had abscesses that had developed below these teeth and had to be placed on antibiotics. At that time, my dentist sent me to the oral surgeon because I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. The oral surgeon thought we would be safe just removing the left upper wisdom tooth under local anesthesia for the time being. The others would have to wait until after I delivered Preston. Of course, I had the other three removed just over 2 weeks ago then proceeded with breaking a molar last week. So, I told my dentist, well now that I have seen you for everything else, I guess maybe I should come in for a routine exam. He agreed of course. Today was that exam, and I am happy that the dentist reported that my teeth are "healthy and cavity free!" What??? Did he say cavity free? After 10+ years of no dentist!! If you only knew how bad my pregnancies alone were! With Gabi especially, I was so nauseous that most days I couldn't even brush my teeth because it would cause me to start vomiting, and once I started, it was hard to stop. It was so bad that I lost 10 pounds at the beginning of the pregnancy, and by the end I had gained only 7 pounds! Gabi was 7 pounds 6 oz so it was all her weight! Sooooo.... I was ecstatic to hear this good news today!!
And as far as the glasses go, they were able to repair both pairs last Friday when I brought them in. It took quite some time though. Here is a little bit of info that may help if your considering buying new glasses: The flexible metal glasses are great to resist being bent, but if your child does successfully bend them as mine did, they also resist being bent back to the correct position!
So, now to pass on this lovely bouquet of flowers on to another. I can think of two bloggers who are in desperate need of a little pick me up. Dori at The Ups & Downs of Our Life who is facing some health issues and Nicole at All 4 My Gals who is having a difficult time because of bullying and serious health issues of some friends. If you all have any time, please go visit these ladies, say a prayer for them, and let them know you care!
