Jonathon came down with a cold on Feb 4 and by Feb 11th he had gotten worse.
He went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on amoxicillin. His poor head....his poor nose....he just couldn't breathe and his nose was running goop non stop. By Monday I was a little irritated and called the dr. back thinking maybe he was immune to amoxicillin and needed something different like the zpac. The nurse spoke with the dr. and I was told to stick it out a few more days. ok. irritated but o.k.
So on Monday I let him watch movies and tried to keep him down and quiet. He napped for a long time and then went to bed later than usual. And of course was still up by 5:30a.m. Why this child is on the new time change is beyond me! I literally hate mornings now. I get up and take him back to his bed. Tuck him in. Grab a blanket and climb in with him and pull the cord on his blue puppy that plays a lullaby and try to get him back to sleep. Of course this usually does not work and mommy is the one almost asleep when I get a "mom" very quiet and a tap on the head or side of the face. I say "What?" he says "up?" No! And we go through this until 6:30a.m. when I finally let him up and our day starts and I am EXHAUSTED!!!!!
I let him stay home again today hoping that it would be a better day. And it was. I didn't have to touch his nose until tonight at bedtime, but that was a false alarm. It is finally drying up and he is finally breathing better. Now tomorrow he has an eye check up appt so I am going to keep him home from school again. I might just keep him home all week because Thursday is his last day. I want him to heal and not turn around and come down with something else. Today we watched Shrek and Incredibles and of course Fast and Furious.....well because he loves cars! He ate a little better today and seemed happier.

I am glad he is on the mend.
